In addition students practiced using the triple beam balance to measure various objects. Students were asked to first estimate the mass of the object in grams and then check the mass with the balance. Homework: If you have not turned in your chapter 1 vocabulary please do so by tomorrow. Define and highlight the vocabulary word. Chapter 2 vocabulary is due Friday Sept. 2nd. Daily Science: Review your notes and handouts for the Scientific method test.

Homework: Review your notes, and handouts for the scientific method test tomorrow. Today in class we reviewed LAB safety rules and procedures with stations. Students read s short passage and responded to questions about LAB safety, matched safety scenarios to safety rules, sorted out safe versus unsafe procedures in the lab, explored various types of safety equipment and their use, and researched lab safety through a simulation on the web.
Homework: Students need to read, sign and turn in their lab safety contract if they have not done already. Also we will have a safety quiz on Wednesday, August 17th. Students need to review the lab safety symbols handout. |
